Terms of service
GP Shade Sails is operated by GP Motor Trimming (ABN 82 489 707 277). By using this website or purchasing from us, you agree to the terms below.
1. Who we are
GP Shade Sails is the online supply division of GP Motor Trimming, based in Andergrove, Mackay QLD. We supply shade sails and related hardware for delivery Australia-wide. We do not offer installation, removal, or on-site service outside the Mackay region — for local installation enquiries, contact GP Motor Trimming directly.
2. Made-to-order products
Shade sails sold through this site are manufactured to the size and specifications you select or provide. Because each sail is made to order, we're unable to offer a change-of-mind refund or exchange once production has started.
This does not affect your rights under Australian Consumer Law. If a product is faulty, not fit for purpose, or significantly different from what was described, you're entitled to a repair, replacement, or refund in accordance with the Australian Consumer Law, regardless of any statement above.
3. Custom and made-to-measure orders
For custom, square, triangle, and made-to-measure sails, we follow a fixed approval process before any fabric is cut:
- We send you a measuring guide.
- You return your measurements to us.
- We produce a final drawing and a fixed price based on those measurements.
- Nothing is cut or manufactured until you've approved both the drawing and the price.
Once you've approved the drawing and price, the order is confirmed and production begins. Changes requested after approval may incur additional costs or delays.
4. Hardware and components
Hardware items (turnbuckles, shackles, eye bolts, roof brackets, and similar fittings) are supplied as individual components. Selecting hardware appropriate to your structure, span, and site conditions is the responsibility of the purchaser or their installer. We don't provide engineering advice, working load assessments, or structural certification as part of a hardware purchase — if your project needs that level of assessment, we'd recommend engaging a qualified installer or engineer.
5. Pricing and payment
All prices on this site are in Australian dollars and include GST unless stated otherwise. We reserve the right to correct pricing errors. Payment is required in full before production begins on made-to-order items.
6. Shipping and delivery
Standard sails are typically dispatched within 4–6 weeks of order confirmation. Delivery timeframes after dispatch depend on your location and the courier used. Risk in the goods passes to you on delivery to the address provided; please inspect your delivery promptly and let us know of any transit damage as soon as possible.
7. Warranties
We warrant our workmanship for 3 years from the date of dispatch. This covers the parts of the sail we make: stitching and seams, webbing reinforcement, and the attachment of corner fittings to the sail. Full terms, including what the warranty does not cover, are set out on our Warranty page.
Any warranty on fabric or hardware components is provided by the manufacturer, not by GP Shade Sails, and applies according to the manufacturer's own terms. Where a manufacturer warranty is referenced in a quote, that reference doesn't extend or create any additional warranty from us.
Installation is not covered by any warranty we provide, as we supply only.
Nothing in this section limits your rights under the Australian Consumer Law.
8. Trade and wholesale customers
Trade and wholesale purchases may be subject to separate terms agreed directly with GP Shade Sails, including different payment, freight, and order-change arrangements. Where trade terms conflict with this page, the terms agreed directly with the trade customer apply.
9. Colour and product representation
We make every effort to show accurate colours and photos on this site — every photo is of a sail we've actually made and installed, not a stock image or render. However, colour can appear differently depending on your screen, and shade cloth colours can vary slightly batch to batch. Minor variations in colour or shade between what's shown online and what's delivered aren't considered a fault.
10. Website use and content
All photos on this site are of shade sails we've manufactured and installed — we don't use stock photography or renders. Content on this site is owned by GP Motor Trimming and shouldn't be reproduced without permission.
11. Limitation of liability
To the extent permitted by law, our liability for any claim relating to products purchased through this site is limited to the value of the order. Nothing in this section limits any right you have under the Australian Consumer Law.
12. Governing law
These terms are governed by the laws of Queensland, Australia.
13. Contact
